Walls are essential elements in building structures because they function as space dividers while also contributing to the overall strength and comfort of the building. The selection of wall materials remains an important issue since each type of material has different characteristics, costs, and construction durations. This study was conducted to determine the comparison of costs and construction time for wall installation using clay bricks, concrete blocks, and lightweight concrete blocks in the construction of the Laboratory of SD Negeri 200510. These three materials were chosen because they are widely used in building construction and have significant differences in composition and installation processes. The purpose of this research is to provide a clear overview of cost efficiency and construction duration to assist decision makers in selecting the most suitable wall material. The results show that the installation cost of clay brick walls is Rp 51,045,839.3, the cost of concrete block walls is Rp 74,158,864.7, and the cost of lightweight concrete block walls is Rp 85,710,639.7. In terms of construction time, clay brick walls require 24 days, concrete block walls require 26 days, and lightweight concrete block walls require 71 days, with the same number of workers involved, which is three people per day. These findings indicate that clay bricks are the material with the lowest cost and the shortest installation time, while lightweight concrete blocks take the longest to install. The results are expected to serve as a reference in determining efficient wall materials for construction projects.
Nur’Aini Dewi HarahapMhd Rahman RambeRizky Febriani Pohan

Paving blocks are non-structural building materials made from a mixture of sand, cement, and water in various shapes. One innovation in paving block production is the utilization of agricultural waste, such as rice husk. Fine-graded rice husk powder is produced by grinding the outer husk of rice grains, which is typically used only as animal feed or fertilizer. The utilization of fine-graded rice husk powder aims to create environmentally friendly paving blocks with adequate resistance to compressive loads. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the utilization and classification of fine-graded rice husk powder on the compressive strength of paving blocks before and after the addition of rice husk powder at variations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. The research method employed was a quantitative approach with an experimental design conducted through compressive strength testing. The results showed that the compressive strength of paving blocks without the addition of fine-graded rice husk powder at the age of 28 days was 14.67 MPa. After the incorporation of fine-graded rice husk powder, the compressive strength at 28 days was 14.29 MPa for the 5% variation, 13.32 MPa for the 10% variation, and 12.57 MPa for the 15% variation. The findings indicate that increasing the percentage of fine-graded rice husk powder in the paving block mixture results in a decrease in compressive strength. Based on the classification results, paving blocks containing fine-graded rice husk powder are categorized as Grade C concrete blocks, with a minimum compressive strength of 12.57 MPa and an average compressive strength of 15.00 MPa
Kristian PangaribuanSuryanti Suraja PulunganNurhasana Siregar

The economic potential of waste or used goods has recently become a new phenomenon that can be used as an alternative to increase family income. There are many reasons why families seek side jobs to supplement their income to meet today's increasing needs, not only for clothing, food, and shelter, but also for education and health. For some, waste is a threat that must be avoided or even discarded because it is considered worthless or has no value. However, for others, waste can be used to supplement family income because behind its contained side, waste has a promising value that can increase family income. In line with the sustainable development program, one of which emphasizes zero poverty, zero hunger. Poverty is a problem that remains a hot topic not only in Indonesia but also globally. Because poverty can also give rise to other problems such as increased crime and other social issues in society. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the extent of the economic potential of waste that can be utilized and the role of housewives in improving family income, especially in the North Padangsidimpuan District, Padangsidimpuan City. The research method used was descriptive qualitative research, conducted by interviewing informants, namely housewives who play a role in utilizing waste or used goods. The results obtained from this study are that what the housewives do is very helpful in improving their family's economy. This can be seen from their high hopes that the Padangsidimpuan City government will participate in developing socialization of waste (used goods) utilization as an alternative for housewives to increase family income, which of course will also improve education and health for the people of Padangsidimpuan City in the future.
Ris Artalina TampubolonJenny Yelina Rambe
