Kolaborasi Pengabdian Masyarakat : Menggali Potensi Pertanian Terpadu Berbasis Komoditi Unggul Lokal Di Desa Sarogodung Kecamatan Sipirok Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan
Abstract
The local government and local community are parties that play a very important role and are responsible for organizing the development of a region towards progress and shared prosperity. This responsibility is in the form of managing existing resources in the environment, both natural resources and human resources to improve the regional economy. The purpose of community service activities in the form of forum group discussions (FGD) and this research is to initiate and identify the potential for cultivation, agricultural land and the competence of farmer groups in Sarogodung Village. The FGD method applied is a two-way method in the form of interviews and discussions by a collaborative team between the Agrotechnology Study Program, Postgraduate Masters Program, Graha Nusantara University and the Bappeda Team of South Tapanuli Regency with Farmer Groups located in Sarogodung Village, Sipirok District, South Tapanuli Regency. This goal is intended to fulfill the pilot Integrated Agriculture program in accordance with the potential of village agricultural land. This activity is carried out using the Sarogodung Community Agricultural Location method and with a parallel land evaluation approach, namely conducting qualitative and quantitative evaluations simultaneously based on physical criteria and financial feasibility analysis of food crops, Horticulture and Plantations. The survey was conducted in several stages, namely the preparation stage, data collection, and data analysis. The characteristics of land in Sarogodung Village, Sipirok District, South Tapanuli Regency are characterized by a rather fine soil texture, good soil drainage with good water retention capacity, low cation exchange capacity (CEC), very low base saturation, acidic pH, no flood hazard level. The optimum land suitability for S1 is corn, shallots, tomatoes, cabbage, mangosteen, cocoa and Arabica coffee and the optimum land suitability for S2 is lowland rice, red chili and cloves. The actual land suitability level for potatoes in Sarogodung Village is in class S3 (not suitable forever) with the actual land suitability class S3tc-nr with limiting factors of Temperature, CEC, soil pH. The recommendation from this FGD Activity is to improve land quality such as soil pH, Base Saturation, Cation Exchange Capacity by providing dolomite, agricultural lime, manure and compost so that it can improve the optimum land quality in integrated and sustainable agriculture.
