Abstract

Business financial management training is one of the efforts to enhance the ability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in managing finances simply yet effectively. This study aims to improve the financial literacy and management skills of MSME actors in Aek Nauli Village, Angkola Muaratais District. The activity was conducted over two days with 18 participants, using a participatory training method that included material delivery, interactive discussions, financial record-keeping practice, and evaluation. The results showed that most participants were able to understand basic financial management concepts (88.9%), separate personal and business finances (83.3%), record income and expenses (77.8%), and calculate simple business profit/loss (72.2%). All participants (100%) actively engaged in both discussion and practical sessions. The training successfully enhanced participants’ knowledge, skills, and awareness of the importance of simple financial management, which is expected to support the sustainability and performance of MSMEs at the village level. Recommendations from this activity include ongoing mentoring, provision of practical modules, advanced training, the formation of MSME discussion groups, and the use of simple technology for financial record-keeping.
