Uji Pemotongan Umbi Terhadap Produktivitas Bawang Merah

Abstract

Red onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) are a horticultural commodity with high economic value. Shallots have several varieties, each with a different shape and size. The Bima Brebes variety is a shallot variety widely grown in Brebes Regency and is a national shallot variety widely grown by farmers in Indonesia. Cutting the tip of the seed bulb with a clean knife approximately 1/3 or ¼ of the bulb length aims to ensure even bulb growth, can stimulate shoots, accelerate plant growth, can stimulate the growth of side bulbs, and can encourage the formation of shoots. The method in this study was a Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design with each treatment P0 (control), P1 (bulb cutting 1/3) and P2 (bulb cutting 1/4). The results showed that the cutting treatment showed a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, number of suings, and fresh weight of the bulb. The best treatment was P1 (bulb cutting 1/3).
