Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence chili production in South Tapanuli Regency. The variables used include land area, number of plants, manure, Phonska fertilizer, insecticide, and labor. Data were collected through interviews and documentation from 60 chili farmers. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression with the Cobb-Douglas production function approach using Eviews 6 software. The results show that the number of plants, manure, Phonska fertilizer, and insecticide have a significant effect on chili production, while land area and labor do not have a significant effect. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.9907 indicates that 99.07% of the variation in chili production can be explained by the independent variables. This study is expected to serve as a reference for farmers and related parties in improving chili production in the study area.
