PENGARUH DINAMIKA KELOMPOK TERHADAP PENDAPATAN PETANI SAWAH (ORYZA SATIVA L) (STUDI KASUS DESA SIJUNGKANG KECAMATAN ANGKOLA TIMUR KABUPATEN TAPANULI SELATAN

Abstract

Agriculture is a crucial sector in development, driven by the need for increased production alongside population growth. However, high production costs and price risks often deter farmers. The existence of farmer groups (Poktan) is important to motivate and develop farmers' capabilities through a group approach. This study aims to analyze the relationship between farmer group dynamics and rice farming income in Sijungkang Village, East Angkola Sub-district, South Tapanuli Regency. Data analysis employed multiple linear regression. The results conclude that good group dynamics should ideally have a positive impact on income. However, out of 8 elements of group dynamics tested, only 4 elements showed a positive influence (understanding of group goals, functions and duties, and the presence of pressure). In contrast, the elements of understanding the structure, cohesion, atmosphere, guidance, and effectiveness of the group showed a negative influence on farmer's income. These findings indicate a dysfunction in the implementation of group dynamics in the field.
