Abstract
Chilli farming is a strategic commodity that faces sustainability challenges, particularly related to price fluctuations, pest risks, and climate change impacts. Agricultural extension plays a crucial role in innovation transfer and increasing farmer capacity. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of farmer participation in extension activities and the sustainability level of chilli farming in the study area. Sustainability is measured across three dimensions: economic, social, and environmental. The research used a quantitative approach with correlation analysis to test the relationship between variables. The results show that the level of farmer participation in extension is in the high category, indicated by attendance, active involvement, and material adoption. Overall, chilli farming sustainability is categorized as moderately sustainable. A positive and significant relationship was found between the level of farmer participation in extension and farming sustainability across all dimensions: economic (price stability), social (cooperation and support), and environmental (environmentally friendly practices). High participation enables farmers to acquire knowledge and confidence to implement sustainable practices.
