Abstract

The agricultural sector is the main contributor to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of South Tapanuli Regency. Among the agricultural subsectors, superior plantation commodities play a crucial role. This study aims to analyze and test whether there are significant differences in the contribution of four superior agricultural commodities (oil palm, rubber, coffee, and cocoa) to the GRDP of South Tapanuli Regency. The data used is annual time series data from 2015 to 2024 [Assumed research year from the thesis] and analyzed using the ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) statistical method. The results show that there is a significant difference in contribution among the four superior commodities to the GRDP. Oil palm is identified as the commodity with the largest contribution, followed by cocoa, rubber, and finally coffee. The oil palm commodity has the highest average contribution due to large land area support and stable market demand. This study recommends that the local government focus on developing commodities with high GRDP contributions while improving efficiency and value-added for commodities with lower contributions.
