Abstract

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a cereal commodity that has the potential as an alternative food source besides rice. However, the increasing demand for wheat in Indonesia has not been matched by adequate domestic production. The low production is caused by the lack of interest of farmers, limited cultivation knowledge, and suboptimal cultivation methods. To determine the adaptation test of several varieties of wheat plants (Triticum aestivum L.) in Sababatang Miha Jae Village. This research was conducted in Batang Miha Jae, Sipirok District, South Tapanuli Regency with an altitude of ± 700 meters above sea level. The implementation time was from February to April 2025. The method used in this study was a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK), namely: guri 1 (P1), guri 2 (P2), dewata (P3), and selayar (P4). From the results of research and analysis of wheat plants (Triticum aestivum L.) on various growth parameters and yields of several wheat varieties. The Guri 1 and Selayar varieties showed the best yields compared to other varieties. Both varieties had the highest grain weight per plot, a high number of productive tillers, and a higher grain weight per hill. Furthermore, both varieties showed superior plant height and panicle length. Therefore, the Guri 1 and Selayar varieties are recommended as superior varieties with potential for further development in wheat cultivation at the research site.
