Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the contribution of female workers in the palm oil agribusiness in Ladang Panjang Village, Sarolangun Regency to the income of farmer households (2) what reasons influence women to participate in the palm oil agribusiness in Ladang Panjang Village, Sarolangun Regency. In this study, the location was determined purposively, and the sampling method used was simple random sampling, meaning that each member of the population had an equal opportunity to be sampled. The analysis method used descriptive analysis, quantitative frequency, and contribution analysis. The results showed that the total income of female workers obtained as workers in the palm oil agribusiness was Rp. 38,760,000.00 with an average income of Rp. 1,250,322.58. The total contribution of female workers' income to the palm oil agribusiness was 31.12% with an average of 30.61%. While the reasons for women working in the palm oil agribusiness were to increase family income, fill their free time, and the location was close to home.
